Chasing massive gains is a universal desire that drives investors to bet on various high-risk, high-reward assets. These can include the likes of penny stocks , cryptocurrencies, and even lottery tickets. However, in my view, penny stocks offer the most compelling risk-reward proposition. Unlike lotteries or purely speculative cryptos, penny stocks represent actual underlying businesses with growth potential. If these companies can exceed Wall Street’s expectations and deliver explosive growth, transforming a modest investment into a 10-bagger investment is certainly possible. The current market environment presents an opportune moment to hunt for such hidden gems. Many promising penny stocks are trading at depressed valuations. Of course, thorough due diligence is essential when traversing into the penny stock space. You need to focus on identifying undervalued businesses with minimal dilution risk, and the financial runway to sustain operations until profitability is achieved. With that said, let’s dive into three compelling penny stocks that could potentially turn your $1,000 investment into $10,000 or more within the next two years.

Since the noteworthy Reddit (NYSE: RDDT ) initial public offering (IPO) that rocked markets in March, Wall Street hasn’t witnessed any more exciting trading debuts. However, that looks like it will change today as a fast-growing tech startup begins its journey as a publicly traded company. Rubrik (NYSE: RBRK ) is based out of Palo Alto, California and operates in the cloud data management and security space. Its decision to go public could signal that the tech IPO market is finally mounting a comeback after years of stagnating as investors focused on bigger stocks. Today, Wall Street will be looking to determine whether the RBRK stock IPO will be a crucial turning point for the tech sector, compelling similar companies to follow suit. Renaissance Capital Senior IPO strategist Matt Kennedy spoke to Fortune about the potential implications of this key trading debut: “There are dozens of unprofitable tech unicorns waiting to go public. So if this does well, I’d expect a number of those to move forward […] There’s some excitement over finally getting that high-growth tech company.
It''s a busy slate on the US economic calendar today with Q1 GDP kicking things off along with initial jobless claims, advance goods trade balance for March, wholesale inventories and Canadian average weekly earnings. The consensus on GDP is 2.4% while the Atlanta Fed tracker was at 2.7%. The high estimate is Goldman Sachs at 3.1% while Julius Baer is at 1.5%. The Q4 ''final'' reading was 3.3% but that could be revised as well. The broader market is in a bad mood and the US dollar is moderate lower. Shares of META are down 16% in the premarket. Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS ) says that by 2030, electric vehicles ( EV s) will make up more than 35% of global new car sales. Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA ) remains the King of EVs despite consistent hurdles in recent months. But it’s evident that the competition is picking up, with other EV companies offering better models at better prices. According to Bank of America (NYSE: BAC ) analysts, Tesla could see a sharp decline of 18% in 2026, marking a 65% decline from its 2022 data. Recent reports show EV sales are slowing, forcing other companies to cut prices and focus more on hybrid models. However, U.S. EV sales hit a record 1.2 million in 2023, with projections for more growth in 2024. Analysts recommend considering these top EV stocks instead of Tesla right now. BYD Auto Co. (BYDDF) Source: J. Lekavicius / Shutterstock.com Warren Buffett showed an early interest in BYD Auto Co. (OTCMKTS: BYDDF ), sending one of his executives to tour its headquarters for China’s car market. In 2008, BYDDF’s co-founder Wang Chuanfu drank battery fluid to showcase its cleanliness.
SoFi Technologies (NASDAQ: SOFI ) stock is up 32% on the year. The company projected net income of $95-105 million for 2024, driven by the end of the student loan moratorium which boosted loan repayments. Notably, revenues from this segment more than doubled to $919 million in Q3 2023. SoFi is more than a student loan refinancing company. SoFi’s revenue diversification could lead to further growth. The company’s non-lending division accounted for 40% of its net revenue in the recent earnings report. Technology platforms also grew by 13%. This diversification boosts financial stability and opens new growth opportunities beyond loans. Earnings Report on April 29 SoFi is set to release its Q1 2024 earnings report on Monday , and the market expects to see good results. In the previous report, SoFi impressed the market and surpassed estimates, and investors are expecting the same this time around. With a strong market cap sitting at $6.94 billion, several research firms issued bullish ratings on SOFI.
