"We Definitely Messed Up": Google Co-Founder Addresses Woke Gemini Fiasco

"We Definitely Messed Up": Google Co-Founder Addresses Woke Gemini Fiasco " We definitely messed up on the image generation, and it was mostly due to not thorough testing ," Google co-founder Sergey Brin said at the Gemini Hackathon regarding the controversy surrounding Gemini , a woke artificial intelligence bot, which has been criticized for misinformation and disinformation. A video featuring, Brin, currently a major shareholder at Alphabet, the parent company of Google, shows him making no apologies for the historical inaccuracies and woke biases in Gemini. Co-founder of Google, Sergey Brin, seems to think they only messed up on their image generator and fails to acknowledge that Google’s chatbot is just as broken. Not a good sign, but then again his fellow co-founder believes AI causing an end to humanity is simply “evolution.” — TeasLindsay™ (@TexasLindsay_) March 3, 2024 X users immediately noticed a man at the event, sitting at a table in front of Brin, wearing what appears to be a body print of a woman''s naked torso, including breasts.

Billionaire investor Ray Dalio doesn’t think the stock market is in a ‘full-on bubble’

Bridgewater founder Ray Dalio said the stock market doesn''t resemble a "full-on" bubble right now. He acknowledged that the Magnificent Seven names look "a bit frothy." "[O] ne could still imagine a significant correction in these names if generative AI does not live up to the priced-in impact." Bridgewater founder Ray Dalio says he doesn''t think the stock market resembles a bubble. In a new note, the legendary hedge fund investor said despite the recent euphoria and rallies in the market , the landscape does not entirely meet his criteria for what constitutes a bubble. Among the factors he looks for are high prices relative to value, signs of unsustainable growth, naïve buyers piling in and speculating, and a large share of purchases financed by debt. "When I look at the US stock market using these criteria it — and even some of the parts that have rallied the most and gotten media attention — doesn''t look very bubbly," Dalio wrote. The S&P 500 has notched a string of records in 2024, and it''s gained more than 8% year-to-date.

Alphabet faces ''clear and present danger'' of falling short in AI

For a firm with the world’s biggest digital advertising business — its operations generated more than $100 billion in cash last year, with a record chunk of that going back to shareholders — the threat is simple: some other company may develop an AI-powered search engine that, as unlikely as it may seem now, makes Google obsolete.

Google to remove 10 Indian matrimony apps in Play Store over fee dispute

New Delhi, March 2 Google is likely to drop the apps of 10 companies in India, including some prominent matrimony apps, in a dispute over service fee payments, two sources with direct knowledge of the matter said, potentially sparking a showdown with startup firms. The dispute centres on the startups'' efforts to stop Google from imposing a fee of 11% to 26% on in-app payments in India, after antitrust authorities ordered it to dismantle an earlier system of charging 15% to 30%. But Google effectively received a go-ahead to charge the fee or remove apps after two court decisions in January and February, one by the Supreme Court, not to give any relief to startups. The unit of Alphabet Inc has sent notices of Play Store violations to Indian companies , which runs the app BharatMatrimony, and Info Edge , which runs a similar app, Jeevansathi. Both companies are reviewing the notice and will consider next steps, their executives told Reuters. Shares of fell as much as 2.7% after the Reuters report, before paring losses, while Info Edge dropped 1.5%.
