BuzzFeed (NASDAQ: BZFD ) stock is a hot topic on Tuesday as the media company is seeking approval for a reverse stock split at its next shareholder meeting. That shareholder meeting is set for April 25 and will have investors voting on several matters. Among them is a request to allow it to consolidate shares of its outstanding stock. BuzzFeed is seeking approval for a reverse stock split ranging from a one-for-two to one-for-25 basis. If investors approve this plan, the company will decided on the ratio of its reverse stock split later. Following approval, BuzzFeed will also have to decide on a time for the reverse stock split. The filing covering its shareholder meeting says it would do so within one year of getting stockholder approval. Why A Reverse Stock Split for BZFD Shares? BuzzFeed has had it rough ever since the company went public via a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) merger. That initially saw an incredible drop in value shortly after it went public in December 2021.
Modern warfare tactics have changed drastically. Increasingly, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have played a pivotal role in shaping the defense landscape, which bodes well for security specialist Kratos Defense (NASDAQ: KTOS ). With its UAV project gaining steam, KTOS stock could be an intriguing long-side wager. Specifically, Kratos developed a stealthy unmanned UAV called the Valkyrie XQ-58A. Per the company’s website, the Valkyrie is a combat drone designed to deliver weapons or assist fighter jets. Powered by artificial intelligence, the UAV could be a force multiplier. Most importantly, it can conduct high-risk missions while keeping its human operators safe from harm. Another element that bolsters KTOS stock is that rival nations – particularly China and Russia – are investing heavily in military-related AI functionalities. Indeed, earlier this year, the South China Morning Post reported that the two nations have agreed to consult and coordinate with each other on the military use of AI.

Space stocks may have fallen back to earth. But a select few still offer out-of-this-world opportunities. Look at Intuitive Machines (NASDAQ: LUNR ), for example. On the news it landed a spacecraft on the moon, and the stock rocketed from about $3 to a high of $13.25. Now, back to $6.40, it’s still a hot opportunity worth buying. Even better, UBS analysts say the space travel market could rocket to $800 billion by 2030. Morgan Stanley says it could be worth $1 trillion by 2040. In addition, according to Pew Research , “The space tourism industry is expected to expand significantly in coming decades, with multiple companies engaged in commercial spaceflight operations. Younger adults are more interested in orbiting Earth than older ones. About half of those ages 18 to 29 say they would definitely or probably be interested in orbiting the Earth in a private spacecraft.” In short, space stocks still hold plenty of upside opportunities. Here are three “out of this world” opportunities investors may want to own today.
