3 Streaming Stocks to Sell in May Before They Crash & Burn

It’s now apparent that the streaming wars are over, and Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX ) has emerged victorious. One point supporting this is that studios owned by rival streaming firms, such as HBO, are selling significant amounts of content to Netflix. Another piece of evidence is that Netflix is very profitable, generating operating income of $6.95 billion last year. Meanwhile, all of the other major streaming companies are still in the red. Moreover, the other owners of streaming channels own cable channels that are continuously being hurt by the cord-cutting trend. In light of these issues, investors should immediately unload the shares of all streaming channels other than Netflix. More specifically, here are three streaming stocks that are the best contenders to sell. Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Source: Jimmy Tudeschi / Shutterstock.com Warner Bros. Discovery (NASDAQ: WBD ) seems to have little hope of meeting its financial goals by lifting its streaming channels’ subscriber base. This is evident by the company looking to attain its targets through layoffs and price hikes .

Buffett’s Billion-Dollar Biz: 3 Crucial Takeaways From Berkshire’s Q1 Results

It’s been nearly two weeks since Warren Buffett presided over his company’s annual shareholder meeting in Omaha. The ritual has become a must-attend for those in the industry and Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.B ) shareholders. There’s no question Berkshire Hathaway stock remains very attractive for long-term investors. The media’s gone over many of the highlights, so I won’t delve into the events of that weekend in Nebraska. It sounded, as always, like a lot of fun. The biggest downer: Charlie Munger wasn’t there to throw out the usual zingers he’s become known for. Munger will be remembered for years to come. I’ve always felt that Berkshire is the ultimate mutual fund. This is because it charges no fees, provides healthy long-term returns, and protects against the downside. You will find that this is unlike few stocks in the United States. If you could only own one stock, besides the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSEARCA: SPY ), which Buffett recommends most investors buy, it would be Berkshire Hathaway.

Bill Hwang Wanted To Become A "Wall Street Legend", Prosecutors Allege In Opening Statements

Bill Hwang Wanted To Become A "Wall Street Legend", Prosecutors Allege In Opening Statements As the Bill Hwang trial began making its way through its first week, prosecutors described the family office manager as someone attempting to "become a legend on Wall Street" to jurors, according to the Financial Times . The trial of Hwang in Manhattan began this with hopes of uncovering motives behind his historic collapse that caused $100 billion in collateral damage. Prosecutor Alexandra Rothman told the court in her opening statement: “From the inside these two men turned an investment business into a crime business, all because the defendant Bill Hwang wanted to become a legend on Wall Street…" Hwang’s defense argued, meanwhile, that he was merely a committed investor who backed companies like ViacomCBS and Discovery. One of his lawyers, Barry Berke, told the court Monday: “Mr. Hwang . . . most certainly put his money where his mouth is.” On Tuesday, testimony was heard from UBS risk manager Bryan Fairbanks, who revealed that UBS was startled to discover Archegos'' main investments were in less liquid firms like Viacom, Discovery, and Tencent Holdings, contrary to earlier assurances of stable tech holdings like Apple and Google, according to Bloomberg .

Buyout Bonanza: 7 Undervalued Gems Ripe for a Private Equity Takeover

With global mergers and acquisitions (M&A) volume set to rise by 50% this year , you may be interested in some of the top buyout stocks to buy. After all, when financial acquirers, like private equity firms, make an offer for a public company, they typically pony up a big premium to the stock’s trading price. This creates an opportunity for profit. However, dabbling in takeover stocks can be a risky endeavor. Even if there are buyout rumors abound, rumors do not always translate into bona fide deals. Such stocks can quickly reverse course if and when chatter about a possible transaction subsides. Hence, it’s typically recommended not to buy a stock just on takeover speculation. That said, there are currently many stocks out there that, besides offering good value and big rebound potential, have been or could soon be the subject of takeover talk. That’s the story here, with the following seven buyout stocks to buy. Berkshire Hathaway Stock Alert: Warren Buffett Could Reveal His Mystery Buy Today

Conglomerate giant Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-A , NYSE: BRK-B ) – which covers a broad range of sectors from insurance to utilities – saw its shares grab the spotlight on Wednesday. Speculation has heightened around a confidential position that Warren Buffett’s enterprise acquired at some point in the second half of 2023. With the disclosure deadline today, the Warren Buffett mystery stock could be revealed soon. According to Investor’s Business Daily , the conglomerate previously stated during its Q1 earnings report that it reduced a significant position in consumer technology giant Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL ) by 13%. It also exited multinational mass media firm Paramount Global (NASDAQ: PARA ). However, not all of the moves were revealed publicly, which could come in a 13F filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) late Wednesday. The spotlight centers on the so-called Berkshire Hathaway mystery stock. Several Buffett watchers speculate that the security may relate to a financial firm.
