With the world fighting to go green, investors should pay close attention to some of the best renewable energy stocks to buy. Thanks to wind and solar, about 30% of the world’s electricity was produced by renewables in 2023 , with the trend only likely to strengthen. Even better for climate change fighters, the world is reaching a “crucial turning point” with clean energy, as noted by the Global Electricity Review, as noted by CNN . The report also says “global fossil fuel generation will fall slightly in 2024, before experiencing much bigger declines in subsequent years. It’s a significant step toward the world reaching 60% renewable electricity by 2030, which is critical to meeting global climate goals, said Dave Jones, global insights director at Ember,” as noted by CNN.com. That being said, it’s a good idea to jump into some of the best renewable energy stocks to buy. Not only does that include solar and wind, but it also includes nuclear energy, which we’ll touch on. Lithium stocks have plunged on the back of a massive meltdown in prices. The dominant sentiment for lithium is fear, as investors stay away from the best lithium stocks to buy at deeply undervalued levels. As a value investor, this is a golden buying opportunity. Of course, it’s not the time to go overboard. However, I would certainly recommend the gradual accumulation of high-quality lithium stocks. Last year, BMI indicated that a global lithium shortage could come as early as 2025. Further, a 2022 report by Boston Consulting Group estimates that the lithium supply gap will be at least 1.1 million metric tons by 2035. There can be deviations from these estimates, with EV adoption being slower than expected. However, there is no doubt that the supply-demand scenario will remain tight in the long term. This will translate into higher lithium prices. Let’s, therefore, talk about three lithium stocks to buy and hold for multibagger returns potential. Undervalued battery stocks present exciting opportunities for investors as the world transitions to clean energy sources and electric vehicles become increasingly prevalent. While some well-known companies in the battery industry receive significant attention, there are several lesser-known gems that are poised for growth and offer attractive entry points for savvy investors. Some companies have established themselves as leaders in the industry, with cutting-edge technologies, robust supply chains, and strong partnerships with major automakers and energy companies. These factors contribute to their potential for long-term growth and is the reason they have made my list of undervalued battery stocks. Furthermore, the European Union has identified lithium as a critical raw material crucial for its green and digital transition, particularly in the production of batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. This gives these companies an additional growth angle. So, having said that, here are three companies for investors to keep on their radars this month.
One of the leading lithium producers, Albemarle, might be signaling some stability is finally settling in.
Electric vehicle sales are expected to hit an all-time high this year . In fact, according to Inside Climate News , EV adoption is accelerating quicker than expected. Government subsidies and mandates in the U.S., China and Europe are already helping. All of which could fuel further upside for undervalued EV stocks . China, for example, already hit its 2025 targets earlier than expected. Around 37% of all new cars sold in that country were electric, according to analysts at Raymond James. This year, that number could climb to 45%, according to the International Energy Agency . “Falling battery costs, increased policy support and shifting consumer attitudes could mean that electric vehicles will account for more than 60% of new vehicle sales globally by 2030,” added the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI). Other key catalysts include the eventual and hopeful buildout of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and lower interest rates from the Federal Reserve. Plus, with a good deal of fear now priced into some of the most undervalued EV stocks, it’s time to buy.
The lithium market has been on a rollercoaster ride over the past few years. But recent developments suggest that the tide may be turning in favor of investors eyeing lithium stocks . According to industry experts and market analysts, the spot price of lithium carbonate and spodumene , two of the most critical raw materials used in lithium-ion batteries, appears to have bottomed out and stabilized. This indicates a potential upswing in the near future. The gradual depletion of lithium inventories, particularly in China, fuels this optimism. It owns the title of world’s largest consumer and producer of lithium-based products. China’s lithium industry holds a significant sway over global prices. And any fluctuations in its supply-demand dynamics can ripple across the entire market. As inventories dwindle, the stage is set. A positive short-term catalyst could propel undervalued lithium stocks to new heights. Let’s explore three such undervalued lithium stocks for investors to buy this month.
