Nuveen Virginia Quality Municipal Income Fund (the Fund) is a diversified closed-end management investment company. The Fund’s primary investment objective is to provide current income exempt from both regular federal income taxes and Virginia state income taxes. The Fund’s secondary investment objective is to enhance portfolio value relative to the Virginia municipal bond market by investing in tax-exempt Virginia municipal securities that its investment sub-adviser, believes are underrated or undervalued or that represent municipal market sectors that are undervalued. It invests at least 80% of its assets in municipal securities and other related investments, the income from which is exempt from regular federal and Virginia income taxes. It also invests up to 20% of its managed assets in municipal securities that at the time of investment are rated below investment grade.
