abrdn World Healthcare Fund (the Fund), formerly Tekla World Healthcare Fund, is a non-diversified closed-end management investment company. The Fund's investment objective is to seek current income and long-term capital appreciation. The Fund invests primarily in equity and debt securities of public and private United States and non-United States companies. The Fund is focused on investing at least 40% of its managed assets in companies organized or located outside the United States or companies that do a substantial amount of business outside the United States. The Fund may invest up to 20% of managed assets, measured at the time of investment, in non-convertible debt of healthcare companies. The Fund may also invest up to 20% of managed assets in healthcare real estate investment trusts. The Fund invests in sectors, which include biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare equipment, healthcare supplies, healthcare distributors, and others.
