Eaton Vance Tax-Advantaged Global Dividend Income Fund (the Fund) is a diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund's investment objective is to provide a high level of after-tax total return consisting primarily of tax-advantaged dividend income and capital appreciation. The Fund pursues its objective by investing primarily in dividend-paying common and preferred stocks. The Fund invests at least 80% of its total managed assets in dividend-paying common and preferred stocks of the United States. The Fund may also invest a portion of its assets in stocks and other securities that generate fully taxable ordinary income, including up to 30% of its total assets in securities rated below investment grade. It invests in sectors, such as financials, information technology, healthcare, industrials, consumer discretionary, communication services, consumer staples, utilities, energy, materials and real estate.
