Black Gold Rush: 7 Oil Stocks Poised to Surge on Geopolitical Shockwaves

At the moment, targeting oil stocks might not seem the most compelling idea. While the earlier flashpoint in the Middle East – with Iran and Israel lobbing missiles against each other – was a pressing matter, tensions seem to have subsided. Still, it’s no time to lose vigilance. First, a miscalculation could easily escalate the matter. Currently, Israel is conducting a military campaign against Hamas for its terror attack last year. While Israel initially attracted sympathies the world over at the beginning of the violence, the campaign has subsequently courted controversies. This dynamic could potentially lead to an escalation, which may end up disrupting key oil supply chains. Second, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine remains a hot conflict and it could get even hotter. With the Senate recently passing military aid to Ukraine, the U.S. has signaled a commitment to protect democracy. As well, Ukrainian forces continue to attack Russian oil infrastructure, which may significantly impact prices.

3 Energy Stocks to Sell Before Oil Prices Stall

Is the rally crude oil about to stall out? After several months of consistent oil price advances, the price of oil has dipped over the past week. It seems some traders are using the tensions in the Middle East as a “sell the news” event. Particularly if there is de-escalation between Iran and Israel, we might see oil prices retreat at least over the medium term. Broader macroeconomic signs also point to a potential sell-off , especially with interest rates climbing once again. That could make it a great time to book trading gains in certain energy stocks before market momentum fully reverses. While much of the sector still has strong fundamentals today, other names are on a shakier footing for the time being. Here are three energy stocks to consider selling right now. TechnipFMC (FTI) Source: abu emran / Shutterstock.com TechnipFMC (NYSE: FTI ) is an energy solutions company focused on subsea operations . Deepwater drilling has come back to life after several brutal years for the sector.

7 Energy Stocks Poised to Profit as Crude Oil Prices Soar

Crude oil prices show little sign of slowing their ascent (and probably won’t), meaning it’s a great time to consider energy stocks . Yeah, it may not align with contemporary politics and ideologies of pushing green solutions. However, the hydrocarbon industry aligns with reality. That’s the most important consideration. On the domestic political front, President Joe Biden is simply not popular. Therefore, I doubt that he can adopt a draconian approach to the hydrocarbon industry. That’s one reason why crude oil prices may rise. On the international front, geopolitical flashpoints will likely reduce supplies for western nations. That’s coming in a time of heightened demand, which could bode well for energy stocks. Finally, the fallout in electric vehicle demand suggests that this mobility platform is still too expensive for most Americans. So, hydrocarbons will likely be relevant for longer than expected. Again, it’s a great time to consider the below energy stocks. Chevron (CVX) Source: Sundry Photography / Shutterstock.com As an integrated hydrocarbon giant, Chevron (NYSE: CVX ) is one of the most recognizable names among energy stocks.

Warren Buffett Collects $2.1 Billion in Dividends Every Year From These 3 Stocks

It’s no secret Warren Buffett loves companies that pay dividends. While he refuses to allow Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-A )(NYSE: BRK-B ) to pay any to shareholders, he enjoys collecting those checks from the businesses he owns. Buffett believes he can deliver superior returns for his shareholders if he allows them to make decisions for themselves. He’s probably right. Since becoming chairman of Berkshire Hathaway in 1964, he has generated overall returns of 4,384,748% by the end of 2023. In contrast, the S&P 500 achieved over 31,000% returns. That means Buffett’s compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 19.8% beat the benchmark index by nearly two-to-one. Most investors will have a tough time doing that in one year. Buffett’s done it for 60 years! The Oracle of Omaha collected around $6 billion in dividends last year. That’s without doing anything but holding onto the shares of companies he already owns. But that’s only from his publicly traded stocks. In Buffett’s 2020 Berkshire Hathaway shareholder letter, he revealed that his wholly owned railroad, BNSF , paid him $41.8 billion in dividends since it was acquired in 2010.

7 Stocks Analysts Are Loving Right Now (And You Should Too): April 2024

Many investors have one or more preferred fundamental or technical indicator. These help to cut through the noise surrounding a stock. And, in some cases, the opinion of analysts is one of those indicators. Analyst-backed stocks have a high correlation with future stock price growth. Analysts have access to information, and corporate insiders, that individual investors like you and me do not. They also generally follow many stocks within a sector, giving them the ability to spot emerging bullish or bearish trends. When analysts upgrade a stock or maintain a rating of Buy (or one of its equivalents such as Overweight or Outperform), it tells you that analysts have a strong belief that the stock will move higher. That kind of information brings clarity. And that clarity is essential in times when economic indicators are sending conflicting signals. Here are seven analyst-backed stocks with several analyst upgrades in the 30 days ending April 10, 2024. Analyst-Backed Stocks: Micron Technology (MU) Source: Charles Knowles / Shutterstock.com Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU ) leads this group of analyst-backed stocks with 22 upgrades.
