Easy ways to fund your Vested account
Transferring money into your Vested brokerage account is simple. Depending on your bank and location, here are the options:
Vested Pay
For users who have an account with our partner banks, we offer Vested Pay, a seamless and efficient way to fund your Vested account. Currently, we have an integrated journey with Axis Bank. You can use your existing Axis Bank account to transfer funds quickly and easily. If you don’t have an Axis Bank account, you can also open a new one through our platform.
From ESOP/RSU account
Use your ESOPs or RSUs to fund your Vested account, making it easy to invest your equity compensation.
Other Indian banks
For users with accounts from other Indian banks, we provide a simple and convenient method to fund your Vested account. Use your existing Indian bank account to transfer funds easily.
From a US bank account
- ACH: It’s usually free and works well for regular transfers.
- Wire Transfer: Quick but may cost more. It is best to send a lot of money at once.
From an International bank account
For everyone else around the world, this is how you can do it.
Next, we’ll go over each method so you can see how to start investing in US stocks.
Transfer funds with Vested pay (for Axis Bank users)
Log in to your Vested account and follow these steps:
- Click on the “Transfer” tab.
- Select “Add Funds.”
- Choose the Axis Bank account option. If you already have an existing Axis Bank account, you can use it to initiate the remittance. Alternatively, you can open an Axis Bank account through Vested. We offer a $10 bonus on your first deposit on Vested from such accounts.
- If you have an existing Axis bank account, select “Yes” on the previous screen and click on ‘Transfer funds’
- You will be redirected to Axis Netbanking, where most details will be prefilled to simplify your remittance process.
- Input the transfer amount, check the transaction details, and proceed.
It usually takes 1-3 business days for the funds to reflect in your Vested account after your bank marks the transfer as complete.
Transfer funds from your ESOP/RSU account
You can now directly transfer US dollars from RSUs, ESOPs, and ESPPs, thanks to recent FEMA regulation updates. This helps you diversify your investments, reduce risk, save on forex fees, and avoid TCS.
- Navigate to the ‘Transfer’ section in the app, click on ‘Add Funds’ and select ‘ESOP/RSU.’
- Find your broker (e.g., Fidelity, Morgan Stanley, E-trade, etc) or follow the general instructions for other brokers.
- Download the transfer instructions PDF and initiate the wire transfer from your ESOP/RSU account.
If you need any help with the process, you can request for personalised support from our team. You can do this by clicking on the ‘Request Callback’ button on ESOP/RSU page.
Transfer funds from an Indian bank account
Log in to your Vested account and follow these steps:
- Click on the “Transfer” tab.
- Select “Add Funds.”
- Choose the Indian Bank option.
- Select from the list of supported banks such as ICICI, HDFC, IDFC, Kotak, Axis, SBI, and IndusInd Bank, as they offer an online procedure. For Axis Bank users, follow these steps.
- Click on “Download Instructions.” The PDF contains detailed instructions on initiating the remittance.
After initiating the remittance, the funds should reflect in your Vested account’s buying power within 1-3 business days. Refer to this video for more instructions.
Transfer funds from a US bank (ACH)
ACH Transfer can move money between US banks without cash, checks, or wire transfers.
If your US bank account supports it, ACH is a handy option for transferring funds.
- Click on the “Transfer” tab.
- Select “Add Funds.”
- Click “US Bank”
- Click on “ACH transfer.”
- Now add the mentioned bank account as a beneficiary and initiate your transfer.
Be aware that each bank has different fees associated with ACH transfers. Check with yours before making a transaction.
Transfer funds from a US bank (domestic wire transfer)
Wire Transfer is a method of electronically transferring money directly from one US bank account to another. Unlike ACH, wire transfers are faster and typically used for sending more significant amounts of money, but they may come with higher fees.
If your US bank account allows it, Wire Transfer is a reliable choice for moving funds quickly.
- Click on the “Transfer” tab.
- Select “Add Funds.”
- Choose “US Bank.”
- Select “Domestic Wire Transfer.”
- Add the provided bank account details as a beneficiary and start your transfer.
Remember, wire transfer fees can vary significantly from one bank to another. Before proceeding, you must check with your bank about the specific costs associated with Wire Transfers.
Transfer funds from an International bank account
International Wire Transfer is a secure method to electronically transfer funds from your non-US bank account to another across international borders. It’s ideal for investing in your Vested account from anywhere worldwide, offering a direct way to send more considerable sums of money.
If you’re ready to fund your Vested account from an international bank, here’s how to do it:
- Click on the “Transfer” tab.
- Select “Add Funds.”
- Choose “International Bank.”
- Follow the instructions to add the specified bank account as a beneficiary and initiate your transfer.
Note: Please avoid using money transfer services like Currency Cloud, Instarem, Western Union, Wise, etc., to fund your account. These platforms must provide the detailed information our partner broker needs to approve the transfer. If such a service is used, the transfer will be rejected, and any charges for reversing the transaction will be your responsibility.
Be sure to consult your bank about the fees for international wire transfers before proceeding, as these can vary significantly.
