Nuveen Municipal Credit Opportunities Fund (the Fund) is a diversified closed-end management investment company. Its investment objectives are to provide current income exempt from regular federal income tax and federal alternative minimum tax applicable to individuals, and to enhance portfolio value relative to the municipal bond market by investing in tax-exempt municipal bonds that the Fund’s investment adviser believes are underrated or undervalued or that represent municipal market sectors that are undervalued. Under normal circumstances, it will invest at least 80% of its assets in municipal securities and other related investments, the income from which is exempt from regular federal income taxes. It may invest up to 15% of its Managed Assets in inverse floating rate securities. It invests in municipal securities, which include securities issued to finance and refinance public projects, and certificates of participation.
